A new dessert place opened up in our city called The D Spot, and I had to check it out.

When you first enter, it’s colourful and fun.

The decor is fun and colourful

It has a warm feel and is a great place for dates or families and friends to hang out. The menu is overwhelming at first, as there are too many options.

Your second time there, it feels better, and you know what you’re doing.

The wait can be long, yet things move fast enough, and the summer is a busy time, as you can imagine.

The food is delicious, and there is hot food, not only desserts.

We had crepes, waffles and funnel cakes, which were all delicious.

Crepe with Kinder Bueno, Oreo cookies, milk chocolate curls and hazelnut sauce

You pick a few toppings, then a sauce, depending on the creation, and you can always add more for an additional price.

The standard amounts they give you are plenty, trust me.

Funnel cake

I have been there three times and will return this summer.

My favourite is the crepe, as it’s not as filling as the funnel cakes or waffles.

Waffle creation with rose-flavoured ice cream

We also tried their onion ring poutine; wow, they were fantastic.

This new creation turned into gold, and now I will try to make my own at home.
