Celebrating Two Iconic Singers with February’s Guide to Star-Powered Birthdays

Although people know it as the shortest month of the year, it hosts some pretty iconic birthdays.

These two singers are only a few of the cherished famous people born on the 6th day of the love month.

Bob Marley (1945–1981)

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you have heard about Marley. From his politically powerful music to his peace efforts, Marley was an icon.

Most people have heard “One Love” and “No Woman No Cry”.

His music is so relaxing.

Every time I hear it, I can imagine myself by a pool or beach, sipping Piña coladas in a coconut with a little umbrella.

Here are a few things I bet you never knew about Nesta Robert Marley.

  • His son started a coffee brand in 2009. You can buy different flavours named after some of his songs. All beans are fair trade and grown in Jamaica.

  • He is one of the top 15 selling dead artists around with the likes of Elvis and Michael Jackson.

  • In 1978, Marley received the United Nations Peace Medal Of The Third World. He earned it for his courageous work fighting for peace in his politically charged country.

We lose good people to such terrible things as Melanoma, which could have been prevented, and it’s a shame.

He survived an assassination attempt, but then he was taken at the young age of 36.

He would have been 79 this year.

Axl Rose

For anyone not familiar with Axl, he is the frontman for the 80’s band Guns N’ Roses.

I could write around 50 pages from the stuff he has done — most of it bad — but I will save you the nightmare.

So much talent wasted is the best way to summarize Axl.

Here are a few tidbits you might not have known about Mr. Rose.

  • Axl has been arrested more than 30 times and has defended himself in court on more than one occasion.

  • He suffers from manic depression. This likely explains all those arrests over the years.

  • Hard drugs were a strong NO for Axl and he even threatened to leave the band a few times over the use of heroin.

I’ll be honest — that last one surprised even me.

Guns N’ Roses had so much talent and they did their best to mess up their lives.

There are so many instances of them not showing up to performances or showing up late. It’s ridiculous that all their fans didn’t give up on them.

It’s fascinating to me how some people with that much potential throw it all away.

I’m sure they are fine due to royalties and such. But, can you imagine making millions of dollars and sticking it to your fans or customers?

Other Famous People

There are many more famous people with birthdays in February such as:

  • Sockie Norris — YouTube Star

  • Babe Ruth — Baseball Player

  • Ronald Reagan — US President

  • Michael Jordan — Basketball Player

  • Ed Sheeran — Singer

So if you have a birthday in February, take a look and see what celebrities also share your special day.

One day you might see yourself on that list.

Thank you for reading :)
