My Observations at a Classy Restaurant

Classy restaurants used to be classy back when I was a kid.

Now, people show up wearing anything they want, including jeans or shorts and sandals in the summer.

The restaurant in question was The Keg Steakhouse, and while it’s not highly upper-class, it’s still fancy.

Thirty years ago, you’d never see someone walk in there wearing jeans.

Times change, and I’m not against that.

I can dress down, so it’s more comfortable than putting on a suit and tie. There are still those who dress up for the occasion, and that’s nice to see. It’s also not only older people who do.

Younger people dress up more than middle-aged people, which surprised me.

The other observation I noticed was that everyone was drinking alcohol. I looked around and saw eleven tables total, including ours. At every table, there was alcohol, and at most of the tables, everyone was drinking something, whether it be wine, a fancy cocktail or a beer.

It’s almost like you can’t have fun unless you drink.

Some people reading this probably wish to be out at a fancy restaurant right now to drink, but be careful what you wish for.
